Savills Helps Symetra Find the Perfect Location for its 105,000 SF Headquarters
Symetra Life Insurance Co., a subsidiary of Symetra Financial, providing life insurance through a national network of benefit consultants, required a new headquarter office space that supported their expected growth in the coming years. Ultimately, Symetra Life Insurance Co. was looking for a larger space with a more functional floor plan to accommodate additional headcount and provide sustainable amenities, which aligned with the values of the company and employees alike.
To address Symetra’s top priorities, Savills identified a building that would support Symetra’s heavy staffing density. In addition, Savills acquired a building that was not a significant capital expenditure in this critical growth stage for Symetra.
Through Savills assessment of the market and expert counsel, Symetra Life Insurance Co. relocated to the first two floors of Waltham Place, 275 Second Ave. – a four-story office building in a highly visible, prime suburban location, comprised of 105,000 square feet of space. This newly redeveloped Class-A building features great accessibility and excellent amenities, including an adjacent five-story covered parking structure, a fitness center, café, and HVAC system to support Symetra’s growing business along the East Coast. This new location is perfectly aligned with both the needs of Symetra’s existing client base and their strategic initiatives, recruitment, and growth. To facilitate the opening of this new 41,000 square foot office, Symetra has taken two short-term sublet spaces to provide some initial room for its early hiring efforts ahead of the opening in Q4 2015.
