Savills Completes 34,000 SF Lease Renewal for Left/Right at 39 West 19th Street

Manhattan-based TV production company extends lease until 2030

NEW YORK (October 28, 2019) Savills successfully completed a 10-year, 34,000-square-foot lease renewal for New York-based television production company Left/Right at 39 West 19th Street in the heart of Chelsea.

Savills Vice Chairman Erik Schmall and Managing Director Daniel Thompson advised Left/Right in the long-term solution.

“Given the tight vacancy rate in Midtown South, it can be a challenge to secure favorable lease terms in a highly sought after neighborhood like Chelsea,” Schmall said. “We were able to negotiate flexible options for Left/Right, which made staying in place the optimal choice for the company.”

Left/Right, which has been a tenant in the building for nearly 10 years, will continue to occupy the 7th, 9th and 10th floors of the 12-story, 131,054-square-foot office building. The new agreement allows the firm to remain in its existing space and make improvements to its current buildout. Its lease now extends through 2030.

Founded in 2006, Left/Right has quickly proven itself as a creator of high profile content. Among its notable recent projects include “Odd Mom Out” at Bravo, “The Circus” at Showtime, and the highly acclaimed Hulu series “The Weekly” in collaboration with The New York Times.

Built in 1911, 39 West 19th Street is owned by the Rosen family. The building, situated between Avenue of the Americas and Fifth Avenue, is located right in the center of the Chelsea submarket. The landlord was represented by David J. Koeppel and Director of Leasing Max P. Koeppel of Koeppel Rosen LLC, the leasing and managing agent for the Rosen family’s Midtown Manhattan portfolio.
