Since joining Studley (now Savills) in 1998, Al Petrillo has made a significant impact on Savills business operations, bottom-line earnings and system improvements by streamlining business processes and recruiting talented individuals. His responsibilities have encompassed all aspects of strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, operations, finance, tax and treasury.
Throughout his career and prior to the Studley merger with Savills, Al was very active in the growth and development of the company. He took a leading role in building the company’s support infrastructure and platform, recruited professionals, acquired companies and teams, opened new domestic offices, expanded into new lines of business and to address Studley’s growing international business requirements, formed a joint venture with an international partner. In addition to his operating responsibilities, Al sat on Studley’s board of directors, a four-member investment committee which evaluated investment opportunities for fiscal suitability and alignment with corporate goals. He was also on the board of the firm’s real estate funds.
In 2014, Al played a pivotal role in the merger of Studley and Savills along with the integration of the company’s operations. Al’s post-integration role at Savills continued to build on his past experiences where he primarily focused on strategy, operations, recruiting and mergers and acquisitions. From 2014 through 2017, Al successfully led the way in growing the company from 400 employees to over 800 employees including the acquisition of six companies and opening the company’s first Canadian office in Toronto.
Starting in 2018, Al was asked to take a leadership position in the North American Industrial Services Group (ISG) as a consultant and broker. Al is using his experience to both grow the Industrial Services Group (ISG) and to consult with C-Suite clients.
In his tenure with Savills, Al has been promoted to vice president, corporate controller, senior vice president, director of finance, chief financial officer, executive vice president, chief operating officer and to the board of directors – the position he holds today. Prior to joining the firm, Al worked for public accounting firms specializing in tax and audit for clients of varying sizes and industries.
