Kunihiko “Key” Otomo became a member of the Savills team in July 2003 when a group of real estate professionals from Insignia/ESG joined forces with Studley (now Savills), strengthening the firm’s tenant representation platform. He specializes in developing and implementing strategic planning and tenant advisory services and has structured and implemented some of the New York region’s most complex transactions.

Key has represented many prestigious organizations throughout his career including Sumitomo Corporation of America with its headquarters relocation to 300 Madison Avenue, at which the international conglomerate leased 98,454 square feet. He was also a member of the team that represented Mizuho Financial Group in the consolidation of 400,000 SF into its new headquarters at 1271 Avenue of the Americas. He also represented Bulgari Corporation of America in its leasing of 23,107 square feet for its U.S. headquarters facilities at 555 Madison Avenue.

Additionally, Key represented SMBC (Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation) in its lease buyout of 116,500 square feet at 101 Park Avenue. Some of his assignments have includes Fujitsu Network Communications’ lease restructure at 2 Blue Hill Plaza,Pearl River, New York for 61,679 square feet, NHK’s renewal and expansion to 15,265 square feet at 1177 Avenue of the Americas, and Quadrant Capital Advisors’ lease restructure for its 11,588 square foot facilities at 499 Park Avenue. He began his real estate career at Edward S. Gordon Co. where he worked for 13 years and was named a managing director subsequent to its acquisition by Insignia Financial Group in 1997.

Awards, Achievements and Activities

Key is a member of Real Estate Board of New York. As a 2nd degree Black Belt, Key teaches and participates in fundraising efforts for various charities on behalf of Kyokushin Karate.
