Erik Schmall joined Savills in 1994 with five years of hands-on experience in the commercial real estate industry. Now, with over three decades of experience, Erik has developed a portfolio of clients that encompasses a broad range of industries from law firms and healthcare entities to new media agencies and educational institutions.

Throughout his career, Erik has honed an in-depth understanding of tenants’ varied needs. This enables him to provide expert advisory services tailored to the specific business objectives of each client. In addition, Erik delivers a complete real estate strategy by facilitating the process from beginning to end. Regardless of the transaction type – a new lease, lease restructure, sublease, acquisition, disposition, or build-to-suit, Erik expertly packages each transaction as a business solution.

Erik has worked with a number of prestigious companies throughout the years. His transactions with Sony have placed the tech giant in Berlin and New York. For HLW, New York’s leading architecture firm, Erik and his team effectively negotiated their headquarters lease at 5 Penn Plaza. Additionally, nationally recognized leader in preventative medicine EHE retained Erik and his team to creatively expand their office space and enhance their accommodations while maintaining a similar location to their previous office within Rockefeller Center. Over the course of 20 years, Erik has consistently won repeat business from tenants.

More of Erik’s notable transactions include a 40,000 square-foot lease for Teachers Pay Teachers, 80,000 square-foot lease at 161 Avenue of the Americas for the startup retailer Warby Parker, a 25,000 square-foot lease at 440 Ninth Avenue for Leaddog Marketing, a 25,000 square foot lease for Vontobel Asset management, a leading Swiss-based financial management firm, and a 40,000 square-foot lease at 1301 Avenue of the Americas for Leerink Partners, a leading healthcare investment bank. Other clients have included Deluxe Entertainment Services Group, Bain Capital, TowerBrook Asset Management, Cigna and Gameloft.
