Savills Strengthens Tenant Representation Platform in Washington, DC

Firm hires 10-year commercial real estate veteran Kevin Harris as corporate managing director

WASHINGTON (April 15, 2020) – Savills has announced the arrival of Kevin Harris as corporate managing director based in the firm’s Washington, DC office. He will be responsible for providing customized real estate solutions for clients in the area, with a specific emphasis on tenant representation for technology companies.

“We are focused on key talent acquisitions like Kevin to further establish Savills as the region’s premier commercial real estate advisory services provider. His expertise in delivering value for his impressive roster of clients strengthens our portfolio and greatly benefits existing clients, in addition to creating new opportunities for the firm,” said Tom Fulcher, vice chairman, director and co-regional manager.

Harris joins Savills from JLL’s Seattle office where he was a vice president in the tenant representation practice for three years. During his time at JLL, Harris completed several significant transactions in the Seattle area on behalf of the region’s most innovative companies.

Among his transactions, Harris advised technology client Coding Dojo to expand from one location in Seattle to 10 locations across the nation. In 2019, he represented Zipwhip, a fast-growing business text messaging software company, in a 75,000-square-foot lease transaction while it was raising a $50 million Series D round of financing.

Prior to JLL, Harris worked for six years as a tenant advisor at a boutique firm, Washington Partners Corporate Real Estate. There, he and his team of 12 achieved 50 percent market share in downtown Seattle. Washington Partners specialized in the technology sector, representing many high-growth tenants, including Amazon. The company was acquired by JLL in 2016.

Harris’ arrival continues Savills expansion in D.C. The firm recently added Rodney Nichols to the public sector services as senior project manager. Nichols joined the firm from Talu, where he served as a senior project manager working on the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation’s 431,000-square-foot headquarters in Washington, DC. Nichols brings over 20 years of private sector and federal project management experience to the firm.
