Savills Adds Tenant Rep Duo to Strengthen Booming Tampa Office

Global tenant representation firm recruits Michael Fisher and Robert Teachey team

TAMPA, Fla. (May 26, 2021) – Savills announced the team of Michael Fisher, senior managing director, and Robert Teachey, corporate managing director, have joined the firm’s Tampa office.

Known regionally for advising CEOs and top-level decision-makers, Fisher and Teachey have more than 25 years of combined experience in the commercial real estate industry. Reporting to Tampa Market Leader Mike Griffin, the duo will be responsible for business development, transaction management, and representing tenants across various industries, ranging from financial services and law firms to healthcare and technology companies.

“After assuming the role as Market Leader, we have worked diligently to expand our capabilities and expertise in the greater Tampa Bay region to deliver productivity and profitability for our clients,” Griffin said. “We are thrilled to welcome the occupier-focused, creativity and leadership that Mike and Robert bring to the table as we enter a post-pandemic world.”

Fisher and Teachey join Savills from CBRE. Together, they have completed 500 transactions, totaling over 10 million square feet and approximately $200 million in dollar volume. In addition, the duo was recognized by NAIOP’s Tampa Bay Chapter with its coveted Best Office Deal of the Year award for their work representing Baker McKenzie Law in Truist Place (formerly SunTrust Financial Center) in 2019.

“As occupier services professionals, it’s paramount we recognize that navigating the post-COVID office environment is more personal for our clients today as ever before,” Fisher said. “We submit they’ll need a combination of understanding industry best-practices, while engaging the right Savills integrated-services team to assist them. This will ensure our clients are able to map out their best space utilization decisions that continuously align with their specific long-term operational needs.”

Teachey added: “One hundred percent of our focus is on occupiers, which allows us to better service our clients in the current landscape. Whether you’re looking to expand, explore a hybrid office model or establish best practices across multiple locations, we’ll help put your people in the place where they’ll prosper the most.”

Prior to Savills, Fisher spent over two decades with  CBRE’s Occupier Services / Corporate Services and completed over 400 transactions totaling more than eight million square feet with clients such as CAE USA, Bank of America, BB&T, Colo 5, HealthESystems, Baker McKenzie Law , LSI and Northern Trust. Teachey worked for five years at CBRE, and before that, he spent 14 years in the commercial office furniture industry, focusing on workplace strategy. From 2008 to 2012, he was the number one sales representative in Florida for office furniture company Herman Miller.

The new arrivals further expand Savills’ employee base in North America. In Orange County, Savills recently appointed Gregg Healy as executive vice president and head of Savills’ Industrial Services Group. In Canada, the firm opened its first office in Edmonton, Alberta. In total, Savills now has over 900 employees, up from 575 in 2014, working together across more than 35 offices in the U.S. and Canada.
