Savills Advises Year Up United on New Boston Headquarters and Continued National Expansion

Strategic real estate approach delivers significant efficiencies for Year Up United’s workforce training program in Boston while supporting new locations in Providence and Chicago

BOSTON (Nov. 4, 2026) – Savills announces that it has advised Year Up United on its new Boston headquarters at 2 Center Plaza while also supporting the workforce development organization’s expansion in Providence and Chicago. Savills arranged Year Up United’s approximately 33,700-square-foot Boston lease and provided project management services to prepare the headquarters for occupancy, with Managing Director Brett Tynes working alongside Senior Managing Director Matt Perry in Boston and Corporate Managing Directors Brandon Nasatir in Chicago and Steve Woodworth in Providence, Rhode Island. Zac Sargent of Savills Program and Project Management spearheaded the project management services for the Boston transaction.

The Boston move is part of Year Up United’s evolving national footprint. Bringing the headquarters project significantly under its anticipated real estate budget provided the resources needed for future locations, including Providence and Chicago. The organization recently signed an approximately 12,600-square-foot lease in Providence and a nearly 13,000-square-foot lease in Chicago’s Two Prudential Plaza, both scheduled to open by the end of this year

“As we continue to evolve how and where we operate, it’s important that our spaces support both how we work today and the young adults we serve,” said Eric Westphal, Chief Operating Officer at Year Up United. “Our new locations in Boston, Providence and Chicago create more connected environments for participants, employees and employers to come together, helping young adults build the skills, experience and relationships they need to launch meaningful careers.”

The Boston headquarters, also scheduled to open by year-end, consolidates Year Up United’s operations from approximately 62,000 square feet across eight floors into a single floor designed around its workplace and programming needs. Savills also conducted a workplace strategy study to evaluate Year Up United’s space utilization, workplace and programming requirements, helping define the organization’s new square footage needs and inform the design of the headquarters. The unified space includes five adjoining classrooms with retractable walls, a large function and event space, huddle rooms, touchdown areas and a shared workstation environment. The flexible design supports Year Up United’s approach to career readiness by creating space for training, collaboration, employer engagement and community-building in one location. Located approximately five minutes from its previous headquarters, the office maintains convenient access while creating a more connected environment that brings employees and participants together in one cohesive space.

The new Providence location will provide Year Up United with space suited to both its workforce training programs and broader community engagement. Paolino Properties renovated the space with new paint and carpeting throughout, complemented by an open ceiling, oversized kitchen and gathering area. The flexible layout will allow the organization to host trainees, conduct programming and hold events for employers and members of the Providence community.

In Chicago, the space at Two Prudential Plaza was particularly well suited to Year Up United’s workforce training and career readiness programs, with existing training-room-style areas designed to support hands-on learning, coaching and employer engagement. The location also offers convenient access to public transportation, helping make the space accessible to participants, staff and employer partners across the city. The East Loop location will establish a significant physical presence for Year Up United in Chicago as it expands its return to in-person programming and creates more opportunities for young adults to build the skills, experience and connections to launch meaningful careers. The space is planned to open by the end of 2026.

“Our longstanding relationship with Year Up United has given us a deep understanding of its unique real estate needs,” said Tynes. “That means looking beyond the space itself to consider programming, growth and accessibility. In Boston, that approach helped Year Up United consolidate its headquarters, significantly reducing its footprint while increasing its employee and participant experience. By bringing together Savills professionals across markets, we were able to apply that understanding locally while maintaining a consistent strategy nationally.”
