CHICAGO (September 20, 2021) – Savills completed a multi-year lease on behalf of client the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (The Fellowship). The organization will relocate and expand from its current location at 30 North LaSalle to a 33,000-square-foot full floor at 303 East Wacker, increasing its footprint by nearly 10,000 square feet, due to the increased charitable reach of the organization.
The Fellowship is the largest provider of humanitarian assistance in Israel and in 2020 it administered aid to over 2 million people. With its services expanding, The Fellowship determined it needed a new real estate strategy to deliver a more effective office environment for its workforce and the community it supports. Savills Vice Chairman Robert Sevim and Corporate Managing Directors Jon Azulay and Adam Southard were tapped to devise a new real estate plan for The Fellowship.
Savills conducted a workplace analysis led by Managing Director Shannon Woodcock that studied The Fellowship’s staff and work habits across all departments to determine the necessary conditions for the next iteration of its headquarters. The Savills team identified multiple locations that fit the specific requirements. The Fellowship settled on a full floor at 303 East Wacker that provided increased air filtration, touchless faucets, an abundance of natural light, and larger work areas to create an environment rooted in health and wellness and with a sense of community and engagement. 303 East Wacker was represented by Jack O’Brien, Nikki Kern and Colton Riemenschneider of The Telos Group.
“The Fellowship is a forward-thinking organization and it set out to reimagine its workplace to better align with its growing mission and cultural aspirations,” said Sevim. “The space needed to convey a sense of home and arrival for visitors in addition to providing a productive setting for its workforce. 303 East Wacker emerged as the optimal solution as each floor possesses an expansive, open feeling with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide unobstructed river and lake views. The Fellowship can continue its important efforts on a single floorplate and within its financial means as a growing organization.”
The Fellowship was founded in 1983 to promote better understanding and cooperation between Christians and Jews and build broad support for Israel. Today it is one of the leading forces helping Israel and Jews in need worldwide and is the largest channel of Christian support for Israel. This past year, The Fellowship was selected as “Organization of the Year” by the ANA Nonprofit Federation, one of the most prominent associations for fundraising professionals.
303 East Wacker, owned by Beacon Capital, is a 30-story office building, which recently finalized a $35 million renovation. Each level features excellent views of the Chicago River, Lake Michigan, and the skyline. The former penthouse floor was recently converted into a tenant lounge and fitness center and features large, operable windows to bring in fresh lake air. The recent renovation also included a café in the lobby, a private outdoor plaza with meeting space, and an updated conferencing center. Additionally, 303 is located conveniently near Lake Shore Drive and Michigan Avenue and has partnered with Uber for private employee rides to and from the Metra trains and the CTA ‘L’ stops.
