DETROIT (November 8, 2021) – Savills arranged a multiyear lease transaction on behalf of Five Iron Golf at the Cambria Hotel development in downtown Detroit. Five Iron Golf will occupy a 24,000-square-foot space on the lower level of the property located at 600 West Lafayette Boulevard.
Five Iron Golf, the nation's premier indoor golf and entertainment experience, has expanded across the country since its inception in 2017, and Detroit was selected as its next Midwest outpost. The Savills team of Executive Managing Director Greg Bockart, Corporate Managing Director Ryan Miller, and Associate Director of Retail Services Meghan O'Connor Burskey was tapped to find a location in the downtown area.
"Locating the proper venue for Five Iron Golf was a unique challenge," said O'Connor Burskey. "Five Iron is known for its use of cutting-edge technology, and as a result, it required a large, open area with specific column width and ceiling heights. The opportunity at the Cambria Hotel development was ideal as it provides a blank, subterranean space that Five Iron can build out to its exact specifications. Additionally, the project will feature other entertainment concepts, and its impeccable location allows Five Iron to be at the center of downtown Detroit."
In addition to multiple golf simulators, the location will include a food menu, full-service bar, and additional gaming, including billiards, shuffleboard, and two bowling lanes. Construction will begin this fall with a goal of opening to the public by summer 2022.
"We are grateful to the Savills team for finding the perfect fit for our next Midwest venue," said Nora Dunnan, co-founder and chief development officer of Five Iron Golf. "This location will seamlessly accommodate our multiple uses and allow us to offer our one-of-a-kind experiences in a space that will be tailored to our specific needs."
Koucar Management is developing the Cambria Hotel-Downtown Detroit near popular attractions, including the TCF Convention Center, Detroit Riverfront, Ford Field, Comerica Park, and Little Caesars Arena. The property is slated to open next fall and will feature three restaurants, a lobby bar, and the Cielo Detroit rooftop bar.
