Freedom Forum Selects Savills to Lead Search for Short-term D.C. Office Space

The nonprofit seeks a new home after selling its home at 555 Pennsylvania Avenue

WASHINGTON (May 3, 2019) – The Freedom Forum has selected Savills to lead its search for new temporary office space in downtown Washington, D.C. The new space will be a short-term home that will enable the Freedom Forum to continue its mission to champion the five freedoms of the First Amendment while the organization transitions out of the Newseum and its current offices at 555 Pennsylvania Avenue. The Freedom Forum anticipates the move will take place in the first half of 2020.

In January 2019, the Freedom Forum announced it had entered into an agreement, subject to all necessary city and regulatory approvals, to sell the 555 Pennsylvania Avenue building to Johns Hopkins University, a premier academic institution that will use it as a new consolidated center for its DC-based graduate programs.

The new offices will be home to the staff of the Freedom Forum, the Newseum and the Freedom Forum Institute. The organizations will continue to host compelling public programs about a free press and the five freedoms of the First Amendment.
