Joe Learner & Robert Sevim Brokerage Team Wins Office Broker of the Year at the 33rd Commercial Real Estate Awards

The Savills duo and additional team members are recognized at the annual ceremony benefitting the Greater Chicago Food Depository

CHICAGO (June 22, 2021) – The Savills brokerage team led by Vice Chairmen Joe Learner and Robert Sevim was honored with the Office Broker of the Year award at the 33rd annual Chicago Commercial Real Estate Awards hosted by the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD), a virtual event held May 13. Along with Learner and Sevim, team members Jon Azulay, Adam Southard, Alex Greene, Cullen Hurley, and Bernice Ramos also share in receiving the award.

Selected by a voting block of industry peers, the prestigious honor is bestowed on the brokerage team that negotiated the most significant lease transactions and exhibited exceptional leadership during the previous year. Upon accepting the award, Sevim shared, “On behalf of our entire team, we’re very humbled by this recognition. We’d like to congratulate the other finalists on their incredible accomplishments in 2020 despite the challenging year. We’re very thankful to be a part of such a resilient real estate and business community. Lastly, but most importantly, thank you to the Greater Chicago Food Depository for their herculean efforts year in and year out fighting against hunger, especially throughout the pandemic.”

Learner and Sevim have worked together for 16 years, and this award marks the team’s fifth achievement in the category, with previous wins occurring in 2012, 2015, 2016, and 2018. The team was also a finalist in 2007 and 2008, and Learner won individually in 1995 and 2003. Both are highly-regarded tenant advisory professionals who bring exceptional advocacy and creative advisory to all their clients.

“We’re very fortunate to have clients who have trusted us for several years and continued to do so throughout 2020,” said Learner. “This past year, our partnerships went even deeper. I’m grateful our clients believed in us as we developed strategies and processes that supported their evolving business needs.”

The Chicago Commercial Real Estate Awards brings together more than 1,850 of the city’s top architects, brokers, developers, property managers, interior contractors, and design professionals to celebrate outstanding achievements in all facets of the industry and support the GCFD. The event is considered the top awards program for Chicago’s commercial real estate industry and the largest annual fundraiser for the GCFD. Since the event began in 1989, it has raised more than $22 million and expects to bring in more than $650,000 for hunger relief in Cook County at this year’s event.
