Savills Wins Office Tenant Representative of the Year and Deal of the Year at the 37th Annual Commercial Real Estate Awards

The tenant advisory team led by Joe Learner and Robert Sevim wins two major awards at the annual ceremony benefiting the Greater Chicago Food Depository

CHICAGO (April 24, 2025) – Savills is pleased to announce it was honored with two major accolades at the 37th annual Commercial Real Estate Awards benefiting the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD). The tenant advisory team, led by Chairman of North American Brokerage Joe Learner and Chicago region President Robert Sevim, was honored with the Office Tenant Representative of the Year award as well as the prestigious Office Deal of the Year award for longtime client Sargent and Lundy’s headquarters relocation.

Along with Learner and Sevim, team members Dave Mahoney, Adam Southard, Alex Greene, Cullen Hurley, Stephen Scott, and Bernice Ramos also share in receiving the award. Selected by a voting block of industry peers, the honor is bestowed on the tenant advisory team that negotiated the most significant lease transactions and exhibited exceptional leadership and professional excellence during the previous year. The award marks the team’s seventh achievement in the category, with prior wins occurring in 2022, 2021, 2018, 2016, 2015, and 2011.

In addition to being a member of the winning ensemble for Office Tenant Representative of the Year, Learner, Sevim, and Southard were honored with the prestigious Office Deal of the Year award for Sargent and Lundy’s headquarters relocation and suburban expansion. The team shared the recognition along with CBRE. Sargent and Lundy has been a client of Savills for over 30 years, and the team successfully negotiated a 380,000-square-foot headquarters relocation and 55,000-square-foot suburban expansion on behalf of the power and engineering firm. The team shares the award with Kathy Arnold of AmLaw100 firm Taft, who represented Sargent and Lundy.

“We’re honored to be recognized by the GCFD and proud to support its mission to end hunger in Chicago,” said Sevim. “As the commercial real estate industry continues to evolve, driven by innovation, shifting market dynamics, and new expectations, what hasn’t changed is the importance of trusted relationships. We’re grateful for our clients’ trust and for the collaborative network of partners who made our success possible. Congratulations to this year’s finalists and the GCFD for another record-breaking year.”

The Chicago Commercial Real Estate Awards brings together the city’s top architects, brokers, developers, property managers, interior contractors, and design professionals to celebrate outstanding achievements in all facets of the industry and support the GCFD. The event is considered the top awards program for Chicago’s commercial real estate industry and the largest annual fundraiser for the GCFD.
