The Economic Club of Chicago (ECC) Relocates to 150 North Michigan Avenue

The nearly 100-year-old business organization will move its headquarters to the heart of Chicago’s Magnificent Mile

CHICAGO (December 10, 2025) – Savills advised and represented The Economic Club of Chicago (ECC) on its recent office headquarters decision process. The historic nonprofit organization will relocate to a 7,538-square-foot space overlooking Millennium Park, Lake Michigan and The Mag Mile on the southeast corner of the 21st floor of 150 North Michigan Avenue in the East Loop. The process was managed by Savills Chicago President Robert Sevim and Vice Chairman Lisa Davidson, with support from Savills North America Chairman of Brokerage Joe Learner and Managing Director Alex Greene. The ECC plans to relocate the summer of next year.

“The Economic Club of Chicago sits at the heart of our city’s business community. Its impact extends beyond Chicago to national and global audiences who follow the thought leaders featured at its events,” said Sevim. “We wanted to find a home that was iconically Chicago for this quintessentially Chicago institution.150 North Michigan Avenue emerged as the ideal choice, offering the right mix of brand alignment, history, and architectural significance. The building’s amenity spaces will support the ECC’s programming by hosting select meetings and events, and the new headquarters will create an inspiring environment for employees, members, and guests.”

“This is one of the most recognizable locations in Chicago,” added Davidson. “The space needs minimal modifications and provides open light and air along with unobstructed views that look directly over Lake Michigan and down Michigan Avenue. It’s a fitting home for the ECC and a true point of pride to have such an iconic organization located at the heart of the city it serves.”

The Economic Club of Chicago is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization founded in 1927 that serves as a forum for Chicago's C-suite executives and civic leaders to discuss economic, business, and social issues. Its mission is to foster meaningful connections, encourage dialogue, and cultivate the next generation of civic leaders. The organization regularly hosts speakers, panels, and events that challenge members professionally, personally, and socially, providing a platform for the exchange of ideas and networking.

150 North Michigan, known as the Diamond Building, is one of Chicago’s most recognizable landmarks, that offers sweeping views of Lake Michigan, Millennium Park, and the city skyline. Its prime location connects directly to the underground Pedway system and places tenants just minutes from the Magnificent Mile, the courts, the legal community, and the financial district. In January 2024, R2 Companies acquired the building with plans to reimagine it around the tenant experience. R2 is introducing fully furnished, rent-ready spaces, re-concepting amenity areas, and transforming the highly visible lobby into a vibrant “third space” for connection and collaboration. The building was represented by Matt Pistorio and Adam Pines of Madison Rose.
