WASHINGTON (August 27, 2019) – Savills has completed a lease to relocate the American Association of State Highways and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) corporate headquarters of to 555 12th Street NW, also known as District Center in Washington, D.C.
“AASHTO was looking to modernize its workplace and move into a building with upgraded amenities,” said Plaisted. “Using our knowledge of the D.C. office market landscape, we were able to secure space that will be built to specifically accommodate the organization’s staff for years to come.”
The new lease encompasses 23,800 square feet on the 10th floor, which includes a 2,000-square-foot atrium terrace exclusive to AASHTO, and multiple private balconies along F, 12th and 11th Streets.
District Center, owned by MetLife and Norges Banks, is a 12-story, 782,000-square-foot mixed-use building with LEED Gold certification. The recently renovated tower features a new fitness center, a rooftop terrace and conference center, and a second-floor atrium lounge space. Located in the heart of D.C., the property boasts close proximity to the White House, National Mall, historic landmarks and transportation.
AASHTO, a nonpartisan association representing highway and transportation departments, is expected to move into the new location in January 2020.
