NEW YORK (October 8, 2019) – Savills announced today that it has successfully completed a 13-year headquarters lease expansion for global wellness company WW International (Weight Watchers) at GFP Real Estate’s 675 Avenue of the Americas, a historic six-story, 311,000-square-foot building in the Ladies Mile Historic District.
WW’s presence at the building will grow to 153,000 square feet overall as a result of the new expansion. In addition to the 125,000 square feet it currently leases on the entire 5th and 6th floors as well as part of the 4th floor, the firm will take an additional 28,000 square feet on the 3rd floor, bringing its total footprint to approximately 60 percent of the office portion of the building. The space will now house all New York City based WW employees under one roof.
The expansion further reflects WW’s growth in the New York marketplace. Following its sweeping rebranding in fall 2018, the company looks to inspire good eating, improve wellness, and develop healthy habits.
“WW was looking to reflect their new unified brand in their workplace,” Schmall said. “With this transaction, we were able to accommodate the company’s need to expand while keeping them in the hottest submarket in the city, where large blocks of space are few and far between.”
675 Avenue of the Americas occupies the entire block between 21st and 22nd Streets. Originally constructed in 1901, the building once housed Adam’s Dry Goods department store.
