Savills Represents Chiron Technology Services in Office Expansion

Government contracting firm expands in premiere office building in Columbia Gateway

BALTIMORE (December 3, 2020) – Savills has completed an 8-year, 19,031-square-foot lease to expand cybersecurity firm Chiron Technology Service’s footprint at its new headquarters at 7021 Columbia Gateway Drive in Columbia, Maryland.

Savills has represented Chiron for almost a decade and advised the firm on previous transactions, including its current corporate office space, previous workspace on Dobbin Road in Columbia and contract sensitive facilities adjacent to Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia.

Senior Managing Director George Santos, Corporate Managing Director Ryan Miller and Assistant Director Mike Barbalace recognized the unique opportunity to restructure Chiron’s lease and move its dedicated classroom space into the Class A building 7021 Columbia Gateway. When completing the transaction, Savills was able to leverage a tenant-friendly market to dramatically reduce Chiron’s overall cost while securing an aggressive concession package that includes free rent, tenant improvements and the right to install prominent exterior building signage.

“We are pleased to continue to assist Chiron with its real estate needs and, most recently, the headquarters expansion. Taking the group’s goals and initiatives and the current market dynamics into account, we were able to secure aggressive economic terms along with a number of other landlord concessions that will benefit Chiron for years to come,” said Santos.

Conveniently located between Baltimore and Washington, D.C., the building’s location provides quick access to Interstate 95 and is minutes from Fort Meade, the National Security Agency, Columbia Town Center, Baltimore Washington International Airport and numerous amenities.
