Savills Continues to Build Project Management Expertise in DC

Amanda Thomas joins the global commercial real estate firm as a senior director

WASHINGTON (May 27, 2020) –Savills announced that Amanda Thomas has joined the firm’s Washington, DC office as senior director of project management. Thomas has an extensive background in project management with a focus on architectural and engineering design for new construction and renovation projects.

Over her 16-year career, Thomas has managed more than 50 commercial office projects valued at more than $1 billion in total. Some of her noteworthy work includes a 28,000-square-foot relocation for Hanley Wood; a 22,000-square-foot relocation for Jackson & Campbell; and a 50,000-square-foot renovation project for the American Association of Justice in Washington, DC.

“The Savills project management practice continues to expand in response to changing client needs, specifically as occupiers rethink their workspace through the market impact of COVID-19. Amanda’s depth of experience and leadership in project management and architectural design will help our clients develop productive and supportive environments for their workforces of the future,” said Vice Chairman and Director David Lipson.

Thomas joins Savills from Cushman & Wakefield, where she served as senior project manager, leading the design, development and implementation of construction projects on behalf of the firm’s clients. Prior to Cushman & Wakefield, Thomas served as regional director of sustainability in Gensler’s Washington, DC office and as an associate in the architectural firm’s Houston office.

“Savills has been committed to strengthening the firm’s project management and consulting solutions to deliver best-in-class resources for our clients. Amanda’s unique experience will have an immediate impact on the firm’s growing advisory services” said Ben Plaisted, executive vice president and co-regional manager.

Thomas joins other recent hires in the firm’s Washington, DC office who complement Savills project management capabilities, including senior project managers Frank Yeboah-Kodie and Rodney Nichols. In March, Savills enhanced the firm’s project management and consulting services with the acquisition of Macro Consultants LLC, a leading national project management firm.
